Unrelenting Representation

ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

At the law office of GreeneWilson, we seek to represent individuals and businesses, serving as a legal advocate and guide through the often confusing legal landscape of environmental and administrative law. As parties seek to resolve matters with state and federal regulatory agencies in eastern North Carolina, our lawyers emphasize front-end problem solving, clear communication, and hands-on assistance in the technical and specialized knowledge of environmental compliance, permitting, and remediation. It is our belief that when it comes to environmental law, it is easier to ask for permission than to ask for forgiveness. However, certainly there are times when matters must be litigated. The lawyers at GreeneWilson draw from their extensive trial court experience in State and Federal Court to represent their clients zealously in both of these forums, the Office of Administrative Hearings, and before public boards.

Mr. Thomas R. Wilson was a Faculty Fellow for Professor Douglas Williams at Saint Louis University. As a Fellow, Mr. Wilson provided extensive legal research and analysis in the areas of water quality, wetland mitigation, farm regulation of point source and non-point source pollutants, and helped brief and challenge Clean Air Act regulations. Mr. Wilson also authored a paper on Environmental Ethics as his thesis prior to receiving his law diploma. Mr. Wilson was a summer associate with the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office in the Air and Natural Resources section of the Environmental Division. While there, he worked closely with a number of Assistant Attorney Generals on matters addressing the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA), North Carolina Water Rights, North Carolina’s Clean Smoke Stacks Bill, and North Carolina air quality regulations. Mr. Wilson established many relationships with persons and entities within the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
